Tasks and Subtasks - Assign

When adding a subtask to a task that is assigned to someone else, the subtask is automatically assigned to me. I would think the subtask would be assigned to whoever is already assigned to the main task….not even sure if a subtask should have the option to assign since it is already a subtask of a task that is assigned.
